There are currently signs stating a 50 mph limit on a long stretch there, and there seems to be no reason for that. Anyone know anything?

I think it might be a step-down limit prior to the 40 mph for the roadworks around the Milton interchange.

Also, there is a temporary roadworks depot site around the Beedon junction, there are likely to be slow-moving trucks joining the carriageway

Of course, there has been 50 mph in place for years around the Botley interchange due to traffic flow

I think the problem is HGVs and such like either pulling out or trying overtake whilst going up hill, which is a problem everywhere.
