Well it does happen that things do get lost, especially when it would be best for those concerned to keep it lost! rolleyes.gif

It really does beggar belief that a Local Authority can be so incompetent on such a regular basis.
It would take a lot of explaining why NTC and WBC operate in such an incompetent way, until you explain that a lot of the Councillors sit on both Councils!
It is really getting to be quite serious now that there appears to be no accountability or any way to control these now defunct and useless Local Authorities.
If we need to make serious savings in local expenditure then culling the number of incompetent Councillors and Officers would be the place to start before considering essential services! angry.gif

However, a lot of problems seem to come from officer error.

I couldn't agree more. There is clearly something seriously wrong with the management of West Berkshire Council. Over a relatively short space of time we have had several really quite serious errors; which have been put down to junior staff mistakes. We continue to pay substantial six figure salaries to the CEO, his first reports and even other departmental heads. What do these people actually do? Yes, we all know about getting 'staff' to take responsibility; but there is delegation and there is abdication. In any other organisation, this would be curtains for the CEO; the chap with ultimate responsibility. The other significant question is why don't our Councillors see this?

Maybe the Digital Services Manager is doing more to protect the incompetents at WBC than just coming on here and trying to stifle anti-WBC comments. Has he added deleting files to his repertoire? ohmy.gif

....then there is another explanation...arguably all the 'errors' we've heard about can be said to be 'useful' to the ruling party....no, of course not, UK civil and public service is incorruptible. Strike the thought from your mind at once....
