I know it's been raised before , but for my sins I had reason to visit Tesco on Saturday afternoon and was dismayed by the number of trolleys that had been abandoned in the car park .
I assume that they do not use the now accepted system of £1 coin that Sainsbury's and others have introduced to good effect .
Surely it matters not a jot if you use a deposit or not , the principle of courtesy and consideration remains , or in the case of some I guess not .

It had been a long day for me and I was not in the best of humour ,but I was seriously considering returning with my fowling piece and administering instant justice .These sort of persons should be encouraged to live elsewhere

I think it's disgraceful and reflective of the lack of thought by most of their clientel. I mainly shop at Tesco and have never abandoned my trolley.

Yes, I agree.
Sadly this selfish and thoughtless act is yet another manifestation of the behaviour of the society we have allowed to emerge over the past 30 years or so.
It is the "me first, me only" class that has been allowed to disregard the concerns of others.
Yet making a stand to chastise and educate the people who behave like this will like as not only get you in trouble by threats of physical violence and verbal abuse.
It will be a long time before this sort of behaviour will be reversed and we have not started yet.

It's not the users of the trolleys, honest!

Shopping trolleys have developed individual and collective consciousness and are currently planning on taking over the world by means of a series of complex financial transactions.

The repesentatives of their species who operate in the arena of Tesco, Waitrose et al have a defined role within their communities to gradually cause chaos to our society by rolling everywhere in the locale and being found, on occasion some 3 miles from their base stations.

They have however, suffered numerous losses of late with a number of their kind falling foul of the local waterways and drowning in the Kennet and Avon where their lifeless carcasses remain.............

LMAO Sir Roost, chavdog post was good too. These things aren't actually funny of course, but sometimes having a giggle about them does make life more tolerable. A moderate form of the Blitz spirit perhaps.

He (or she) would still need to collect them from the trolley parks. If you employ that logic, you could say that by not stealing you're potentially putting security out of a job too

Except that not returning your trolley to the trolley park isn't actually a criminal offence.

True, but that wasn't the point. Anyway it could be construed as littering or causing an obstruction. Besides, leave me alone, I'm trying to cheer up ;-)
