QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Oct 23 2009, 09:48 AM) As for the Politicians no mention of Expenses, no mention of Unemployment, no mention of Recession, no mention of Bankers Bonuses. It was never going to be a normal Question Time, was it? The audience ask the questions that are most relevant to them and the panel on the day. They did manage to get a question about the Jan Moir article in at the end. QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Oct 23 2009, 09:48 AM) They are all lieing scum who have their snouts in the Westminster trough. Would you say that to Richard Benyon's face? If not, shut up. From what I've read, he has claimed the minimum of expenses and has not been asked to pay anything back.

As a matter of fact I would not trust Benyon as far as I could throw him. Power corrupts. So shut up yourself you ignorant man.

QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Oct 23 2009, 09:48 AM) In my view the only one that showed any semblence of intelligence was Bonnie Greer. As for the Politicians no mention of Expenses, no mention of Unemployment, no mention of Recession, no mention of Bankers Bonuses. Question Time??? it was more a case of which Political Party can score the mose points against the BNP to try and make themseleves 'electable'. I would not vote for any of them. They are all lieing scum who have their snouts in the Westminster trough. How come it is allowed to use such language on here as "lying scum" (way over the top by the way) when it is not allowed to use the three letter word for a mule like creature, sometimes used to describe laws considered to be wrong?

I am prepared to be corrected, but from what I've read on here I am guessing most of the people who have commented are not regular Question Time viewers.
David Dimbleby is not in love with his own voice, he is chairing what can be a heated panel and audience and his job is to make sure a full blown shoting match doesn't erupt and try to ensure the panelists give answers relevant to the questions asked and soin off in a direction of their choosing.
He is a master of his proffession.

What a strange and unreasonable conclusion to come to. I watch it every week. and have always thought that DD is over enthusiastic in asking his own questions and steering the discussion in the direction that he would like it to go rather than that of the audience.

QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Oct 23 2009, 10:59 AM) I believe that Richard Benyon is an honourable man and there is no evidence to suggest that he did anything untoward regarding his Parlimentary expenses however it is inevitable that he gets "tarred with the same brush" I do find it difficult to believe that he did not know the corruption was going on though and decided not to rock the boat.

QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Oct 23 2009, 11:35 AM) Perhaps as Benyon is a very wealthy landowner he can 'afford' to be honourable. They can all afford to be honourable it is just that some don't have the morals to resist bending the rules when their is something in it for them.

Bloggo, I said "most". I've always thought that DD tries to stop panelists from avoiding the audiences questions. He does have a powerful persona, but look at who he is trying to deal with. I was in the audience the last time the show was in Newbury and was lucky enough to be able to put a point accross, he met the audience before the show was recorded and came accross as an extremely affable and decent man. Last nights show must have been the most difficult he has had to chair and I think he did a splendid job. The most important thing for me though was that Griffin was shown to be the ignorant unintelligent biggoted clot that all right minded people surely already knew he was.

I would say that Jack Straw did not come over well either. He seldom gave a straight answer and was very devious when answering. I would not trust him and will be glad when hes gone.

I would say that Jack Straw did not come over well either. He seldom gave a straight answer and was very devious when answering. I would not trust him and will be glad when hes gone. Especially when he tried to hijack the word 'Indigenous' and turn it into a 'racist' and not PC word. Buffoon.

The second part of this comment contradicts the First. If somewhere honourable then I would expect them to rock the boat in this case.

So shut up yourself you ignorant man. You are suggesting Benyon is corrupt and Jeff is ignorant of this "fact". There's a easy way to solve this, let's see some evidence; let's see that you're not lying about it. QUOTE (regor @ Oct 23 2009, 04:43 PM) The chairperson, D.D. did not treat N.G. with the same courtesy that he extended to all other members of the panel and at times was openly hostile to N.G. If you're a regular watcher DD is often like this with anyone who did what Nick Griffin did quite a bit, that is claim things that were obviously untrue mainly in relation to things he had said or done int he past.
