At least there was some excuse for that one - coalition meant that neither party's manifesto could be fully realised.
When it's one party and they break a manifesto pledge it's all down to them.

‘We will maintain our inflation target at two percent.’
‘Violent behaviour, including the use of knives will not be tolerated.’
"comprehensive out-of-hours [GP] services . . "
Just a few more, I could go on but any one with two brain cells to rub together will realise that commitment during an election is often abandoned. Indeed many people vilify Donald for continuing to try to fulfill his election promises, the issues on which he was elected.

Good grief. Why not just cut out the middle-man and make every post a link to the Conservative web site - you're latest is their 2010 attack on the 2005 Labour manifesto.

A small increase in NI contributions for self employed is fair.
As a self employed person i have no problem with this, the increase will cost me approx £4.80 per week.
I can offset this by increasing my prices and/or also claim this back from my overheads.

That might be the case, but filthy liars like the Monster Raving Tories pick and choose when to adhere to their promises. At least now they have put a grenade under the argument about the Liberally Defecates' gaff.

Yes same as it ever was...........that is why, at the moment, they need the plebs! Until they can develop robots that will do the work for the ruling classes without having to pay them for the work then whatever monies trickle down, or not in most cases, then they will need to claw it straight back again won't they? I'm afraid that it is impossible for Politicians and Honesty to go hand in glove!

Beer, wine tobacco etc up and no one complains about this when, if you are someone who smokes or drinks the increase can be more than the increase to us self employed.
Lets be honest and agree that "we" self employed are a minority really and we havent had it bad in the past few years.

Booze / fags are indirect taxation ie you have a choice whether to pay or not.
Income / nat. ins. are a direct tax like other particularly nasty ones like IHT.
VAT was originally intended to be a tax of choice but was instated on essentials such as energy. Again, nasty?
