QUOTE (Bofem @ Sep 11 2010, 10:23 AM) Crazy lady just nearly got herself killed by walking out in front of me. I beeped...so she started a rant about having right of way, and reporting ME for careless driving.
Just checked out Highways Code which says pedestrians have priority at a Give Way only when they've already started crossing. This lady was on the pavement, but just stepped out.
Crazy The trouble is even though you might be in the right it will come down to your word or hers if you hit her. I would imagine the law would favour a pedestrian over a motorist.

QUOTE (Biker1 @ Sep 11 2010, 02:43 PM) Defensive driving - always expect the unexpected! I don't think we can fault Bofem on that one Now, as for defensive walking, that's a different story... Yonks ago in these forums, I think I suggested pedestrians should have to take a test before being let out on their own.

QUOTE (Strafin @ Sep 12 2010, 09:19 PM) I don't why it's been so bad recently, but 2010 seems to be the year for pig ignorant motorcyclists. I've stopped moving over for them now, they just seem to go where they like when they like, normally have the wrong indicator on, and expect evreyone to move out of the way. I understand filtering but this summer it has gone to a new level. Could it be that the recession is pushing the boy racers on to two wheels? I'm not going to be drawn into a "all motorcyclists are bad" argument again. As you well know there are bad drivers of all vehicles out there . Like I said - don't tar all with the same brush. Rule 88Not sure what you mean by the recession & boy racer comment? Have you seen the price of biking these days especially for a youngster? These lads couldn't afford it! (By the way we're going off topic again - we will get a bollocking! )

(By the way we're going off topic again - we will get a bollocking! ) Didn't mean to tar you all, it just seems to me that the good vs bad numbers for motorcyclists this year has increased on the bad side, I agree there are good and bad in all vehicular forms. I note that several friends of mine who used to have Saxo's have now bought bikes, and are getting a much better power to money ratio!
