Just a quick observation really, why is it that whenever Engerlaand get into a competition you can't move for builders vans, mondeos etc 'proudly' displaying the nations flag. Yet here we are on the eve of her Majesty's diamond jubilee and, zilch, nothing, nada. Just think its all a bit odd.

I've bought my English flags for the Euro championships (including car flags). You can buy those flags anywhere. As for the British flags for the Queens jubilee. I haven't seen them in the shops.

Pound shop sold out, only plates and mugs in 99p shop. Tried the Works but no joy and refused to pay an arm and leg in Clintons.

I always flew an English flag from my allotment shed even though the Council said it was an eye-sore and wrote to tell me to take it down. That's all over now I'm afraid and the flag is on its way to the tip. I might yet put a flag pole up in the garden, but that won't be any time soon.

Do you think it might be because those who own builders vans, Mondeos, etc, might have a greater affinity with a group of 20 and 30 something, mainly working class men who play the same sport as many of them, than with an 86 year old woman?

I am beginning to jump into troubled waters here.I really have no trouble with Monarchy.
I kept a secret from the press when Andy and Rabbet came to see "Daisy Pulls It off".
I frogmarched them up the aisle.Very fast,Opened the bolly. Then did the same back

Got a nice "Thanks Mate" as he went down to a side door & car.

I was hauled over the coals for that. Not mentioning to the company press chaps..

Andy's staff told me not to talk and they had bulging nice suits. So I didn't
ce. Funny old days.

I think I know from where this springs, I however am proudly displaying the Union Flag from the east wing. God Bless Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11. Interestingly I read today that most of the England squad don't bother to sing the national anthem, disgracefull !

That's a pretty sweeping statement by whoever wrote it. I know Rooney doesn't though, it really annoys me.

Where are they? Have you been shopping recently? Not only does the flag feature in almost all shop window displays - it also appears on loads of themed products - edible, drinkable and wearable - you name it - they sell it. Even knickers!

Always struck me as kinda wonderful that all these Ingerland supporters who support their country through thick and thin, demonstrate their love and unbridled support by sticking their flags up on Mazdas and Fiats and Peugeots etc etc...

Saw a few flags tonight, especially on cars.
Makes me wonder why people do it. Agree with Dodgy's smarter brother.

I don't agree with the OP. I've seen a lot of Union Flags, but hardly any George Cross flags.

What I have noticed, however, is that almost every shop has hung their bunting up the wrong way round, or the flag is the wrong way round

Correct

Incorrect

On a horizontal display of the Union Flag, which way is upside down?
