QUOTE (eternalriver @ Aug 24 2010, 01:28 PM) Pinkfluffyclouds, apparently we aren't supposed to call overweight people "obese" already! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10789553I fit into that category....no I'm not offended because its true. I have no dress sense either - so in my old fasihoned way I'm not even offended by being called a bald fat slob. Something about caps and fittings! Well done Pinkfluffyclouds quite agree with your sentiments.

Her idea is that calling someone fat is more likely to persuade them to do something about losing weight. And she got plenty of stick for daring to be non-PC.

We should love them, bring them into our houses and show that we really care. Even give them some of our money, if they need it. In fact we should call them social neighbours... how about that?

In fact we should call them social neighbours... how about that? I quite agree with you G. These people need your support. Give it a go and let us know how you get on. Call it "dipping your toe to test the water" for the rest of us. It's not their fault they are where they are now. (Oh......hang on......... actually, yes it is). I eagerly await your feedback!

QUOTE (GMR @ Aug 24 2010, 09:23 PM) I suppose we either give it that way or they will get it themselves; more so as there is no law to stop them. One thing that always galls me is when I go to the chemist, pay my £7.20 for medicine to treat a problem that I have not self inflicted, and I am then asked to wait while one of our addict friends gets their "fix" at MY expense as a priority for free! I must have "SUCKER" stamped across my forehead! (Don't answer that! )
