NEWBURY Racecourse is to withdraw its planning application to build 1,500 homes after council planners indicated that it would not be passed.
But the hiccup may only be brief, as racecourse bosses insist that changes have already made to overcome the planners' objections.

As you said, the hiccup will only be brief as they are still planning the submission but already working on amendments which would have had the application rejected at this stage

Wasn't Wash Water the site of one of those land scams - where pocket handkerchief sized plots of land are sold for thousands on the theory that they will be worth huge amounts when planning permission is granted. WBC publicised the scam and pointed out that the land in question was very very unlikely ever to get planning permission.

The best thing for all concerned would be for the developers to submit a fresh outline application.

Link doesn't work. If this is true, it's certainly fantastic news for those who fought the key issues such as affordable housing.
