QUOTE (JeffG @ May 29 2009, 01:41 PM) Going right back to the original post, my experience has been completely the opposite. I've had communications from the Lib Dems and the Conservatives, but nothing from UKIP or the BNP. Which is just as well! I've had nothing from the major parties, but I have had some stuff through the post from UKip.

QUOTE (GMR @ Jun 1 2009, 04:44 PM) I've received nothing so far. Are you on the electoral roll? Did you receive a polling card? Just a thought.

What count on Sunday? Bill1, the count is not until Sunday because other countries vote on different days (many have their elections on Sundays).

What count on Sunday? It is for the European Parliamentary elections. It will be held West Berkshire Council offices, Market street, Newbury. it is between 6 pm and 9 pm on Sunday. Even though the election is on the 4th June (tomorrow or today, depending when you read this) because it is European all European countries have to hold the count on the same day, same time.

I see thanks GMR.
Obviously I was wondering because usually election counts are done on the night, but I can understand why an EU wide one would take longer.

Personally I think Labour will suffer and maybe the smaller parties will do well. I am not sure what will happen to the conservatives or liberals.... it will be interesting to see.

People who dont vote have no right to complain about the outcome of elections I feel.
I do understand that some people who usually do won't this time as a protest but surely that risks letting certain "minority" (I think you know who I'm referring to) have more exposure at least and power at worst.

QUOTE (Bill1 @ Jun 5 2009, 02:50 PM) I know. One local female was even "bragging" that she did on Facebook last night, which is wrong on so many levels I've been to Reading today and the amount of people who have said that they've voted for the BNP. I've even spoken to people in Newbury who have voted for the BNP. To be honest I don't think most of them really understand what the BNP stand for.

To be honest I don't think most of them really understand what the BNP stand for. Telling people that they 'can't' vote for a party (as a lot of politicians have) is undemocratic. I think that is one of the reasons they will get so many votes.
