Since the digital switchover I keep losing all my BBC channels. I've lost them around half a dozen times so far. If I retune, I can get them back, but it's a pain having to keep retuning.

I had freeview before the switchover and never had this problem at all.

Anyone else experiencing the same problems?

Try post #61 in this thread. You might want to compare notes (e.g. TV model etc.)

The short answer is that most people have not had a problem.

Compare with what notes; I see none? sad.gif

A lot of this type of loss and picture breakup can be due to a bad connections
on the aerial cables in and out of a digibox, if that is what you are using. Check
right through from point of entry from the first connection to the last, this may
help. Also if you have an aerial that is a fraction off line you can get the same
results, picture breakup and channel loss. You really need a swr meter to find
the right alignment to correct this. These faults did not always show up with
the analog system

Since the switchover, I have had to keep retuning radio 2 in the car, but I think that it must be coincidence.

Oh don't be so obtuse! smile.gif Obviously I meant to compare notes with the poster of post #61 who had a similar problem. Or maybe that is an expression you have not come across.

You'll get there one day, and Chris Moyles will be doing the breakfast show!

I simply misunderstood what you meant. I thought I had missed something.

I find modern music boring. The last DJ(s) I enjoyed listing to were Mark and Lard. Rick Wakeman on Planet Rock was amusing at times and I always liked Terry Wogan. I believe Steve Wright came from Reading's Radio 210.

No, no problems whatsoever.

As has been said, if you are having problems it is due to your local set up somewhere.

When I realised we weren't getting HD freeview, I decided to shell out for Sky. It has been problem free, and I am sitting here now watching the F1, so I would urge everyone else to do the same!

The alternative to Sky is Freesat, unless you want all the additional channel packages (e.g. Sports, Movies) that Sky offers, and you are willing to pay for them.

With Freesat you get BBC1 HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD and C4 HD. And you don't need to make any changes to your setup if you have an existing dish, apart from cancelling your direct debit. wink.gif

You certainly don't get any fewer channels than Freeview, anyway (and some time-restricted channels on Freeview are full-time on Freesat).

Mrs Biker won't let me stick a dish on the side of the house! sad.gif
