Because you know the victim's personally and it's going to profoundly affect your life..

Or is it because it's just the "right" thing to be seen to be doing... seeing Corbyn and Khan singing Bridge over troubled water made me want to puke.

Awful thing yes. But I really don't like this false "grief".

Not as bad as the Diana outpouring though. I left the country to avoid that.

If you own a franchise for a flower stall when these events happen though you're quids in. All you need to do is set up a couple of candles in some glass jars, tie a ribbon to a tree, print off a large poster with some schmaltzy emotional message on it and wait for the money to come pouring in as the gullible buy your cellophane wrapped weeds for the 'shrine'....
