KartForce is a non-profit organisation that has designed hand controls that allow injured troops to drive karts with one or two hands. This allows troops with injuries such as double and triple amputation to race against non-injured drivers – on a totally level playing field.

We organise regular karting events, from casual meets mostly for first-timers to try out karting with hand controls to team races. We’re raising funds to buy 2 racing karts, trailer and all the gear needed to enter mainstream competition karting.

Information, photos and videos can be found on our website, Facebook and Twitter.

I live in Newbury and run KartForce from home. When we hold events I need someone to assist with preparations and man a stand that sells our merchandise – t-shirts, patches, stickers, etc. There is also the opportunity to do freelance fundraising during these events, as well as any other events that may generate donations – even run a team of fundraisers. There will also be other occasional work, such as post office runs and other odd jobs in the area.

If you’re interested, please email me on dave@kartforce.org

Regards
Dave

Sorry - living in Newbury I thought you would. He runs the Newbury Volunteer Centre, and might be a good person to have on your side. They are in Bolton Place which is a little alleyway off Northbrook Street between what used to be Curry's (now Hawkins Bazaar) and the YMCA shop.

Either report it or stop being a jobsworth, I hardly see this being a problem. It's hardly for profit. It's okay when Rowanda Underbridge whatsherface posts up but this is out of line??

I'm not saying it's out of line, just that it's outside of the rules.

I think we all do things outside the rules set upon us, whether at work, at home, or when we're out and about.

Rule breaking is fun. Shows you're a rebel and not just a yes man. Power the fight...the power fight..fight power the... something like that.

promotional or marketing material. Just because it's a charity doesn't make it exempt.

So if you're not against what he wrote, why are you complaining? I don't understand your purpose.

People on this board complain about the rules all the time. I have never reported anyone on here and probably never would, but there are plenty who do and I am just wondering why they are not in this case, if the rules are so important to them. I wasn't complaining. Also I didn't say whether or not I agreed with the post.

That could cut out quite a lot of 'we are having a meeting' posts, and might even give Mr G a problem with his promoting of the Labour Party (only as an example, he is not the only political promoter).

Wast of time complaining. You get no response.
Probably why no one does!

There is a perception, occasionally well founded, that it is not just those for whom the charity is working to help that do well out of the charities activities....

You might not get an acknowledgement, but I know people have been given rollockings for their conduct.

I've always looked on the rules as discretionary, that it is, admin hold the right to apply the rules, but would rather let the forum find its own way.

If the rules were applied to the letter, it would be a very sterile (boring) forum.

In my sixty nine years I have have met some very petty, small minded people,
I now have a few more to add to the list. Oh so glad they they are not in my

If you're referring to me may I point out that I was in no way implying that one should complain about this particular thread. Just making a general comment about complaining to Admin if one thinks the rules have been broken.

Foe once I agree with Andy in his comments above.
