We were also told by DD that Mrs Merkel would be on the blower the morning after the referendum to do a trade deal. That didn’t happen either.

The issue is newres seems to THINK everyone is a refugee if they don't live in a prosperous country. I don't. Some of these Iranians are paying 20k just to cross. 5 adults at 4k a pop. They are not short of a few Bob and they are "fleeing" the 6th biggest economy in the world. France. Doesn't quite add up to a refugee in my view.

So what is wrong with boarding an A350 from Tehran and landing at Heathrow? Certainly cheaper and less hassle, which poses the question, what is the truth behind the headlines? Note to self, must buy copy of Grauniad next time out.

Well they were wrong. However MPs can now ask us just to make sure we're sure. May's deal or remain. I'm content now to accept either, though I think it's better to remain. A hard Brexit with no deal is off the table.

I would say there are as many who voted remain who now so sickened by the whole fiasco would join the leave brigade, as leavers who now believe and side with the project fear element.

I don’t though. The angry brigade are definitely on the right and threatening violence if “democracy” isn’t honoured as if giving people a final say isn’t democracy.
The people voted to leave the EU. TM’s deal delivers exactly that.

My preference is a clean break as personally I think the EU is doomed to failure. I may be wrong but no one can see the future. It's just opinion. Like yours.

Hello, and merry xmas, to the "few". Shame this little forum ran out of steam, but "That's life", as they say. Ironically, as there is so much material to "rant" over today, the scope for such an outlet to "vent one's spleen" is sadly missed.
Anyway I hope to pull a "cracker" or two during the festive bash...and hope her husband doesn't find out.
