A restart may well resolve the issue, as it can be caused by the java application partially crashing, a memory leak causing the RAM to run short.

OK, it's also likely that someone made a ham-fisted change to the HTML code too.

Follow the 3 R's

Restart
Reload
Rebuild

Aren't you jumping the gun here a bit? Admin has admitted that it is down to software problems so your suggestions won't make a blind bit of difference.

This is what admin said:-

Thanks one and all for your comments and sorry for any problems caused.
The problems with the new layouts and templates should be resolved by close of play today or Monday at the latest.

Thanks, Admin

Well, I've installed AdBlock Plus into Firefox and got rid of the ads, but it still doesn't give me my screen back sad.gif

That is the point, the readable area has reduced by 40%!

On the contrary. Reloading the base design from a previous good version will usually resolve the fault. You then reintegrate the actual content. It's a lot quicker than scanning line after line of HTML code to find the cause. The restart then allows the OSI layers in the server to load in the correct sequence.

OK....

I did do what you said anyway, but nothing has changed.

Don't worry, Firefox is just the same. At least it's consistent smile.gif

Yes, it is bad... even worse if you are using a laptop as they have smaller screens.

They must have done something right- on my screen the adverts now only take up about 20% of the space. There are no white gaps and the actual forum bit takes up the rest. Hurrah! biggrin.gif

It seems a lot better and the adverts don't encroach on the writing area. There is quite a bit of white space at the bottom of the main page of the forum; but that is just being nit picky laugh.gif

Have you tried holding the Ctrl key and taping the F5 key simultaneously?

A few have complained about it so there must be a problem. Hopefully they will fix it for you.

Me too now! And I thought I was immune cos I have a Mac (running Windows mind you!)

The problem with mine is random! Completely! One minute it's a certain thread, then it's another.

Could it be because you've got a mac? I wonder what sort of computer Andy has got?
