F1 has announced no more young ladies on the grid, hmm. Three questions:

Did anyone ask the ladies involved for their views?
Who now gets to hold the umbrella?
Is this whole thing now getting slightly out of control?

As a huge F1 fan i have mixed views.
When the ladies are dressed respectfully (as in the British GP a few years ago in the Santander colours - full skirts and tops, very beautiful and feminine), it adds both a touch of class and glamour to the show. The ladies themselves seemed to like it.
However at the vast majority of GP's now they are basically Lycra clad, designed to show as many "bits" as possible, the ladies are clearly cold and don't like them (especially in the back breaking heels they have to wear).
Overall then on balance I have to agree with the decision to move forward and drop them from the grid. Unfortunately the teams always have plenty of scantily clad girls in their pits, so there is still some employment if needed.
Totally agree with having more ladies in the cars, but here only proven talent speaks (i.e. both driving ability AND sponsorship money)

I think the issue is that many are unhappy with the way we currently objectify people and how our society values looks over talent sometimes.

The issue here, and it's the same with the darts, the grid girls offer no value. They don't sell anything, they're not really doing a job that is needed and ultimately even if it's only a minority who object, It's a great excuse to save a few quid.
