Two horses killed at Aintree already this year. I wonder how many more it will be today.

It's like bullfighting, death is guaranteed. But we accept it because we can have a bit of a gamble.

Some of us don't accept it & neither do we gamble on it. It is a real disgrace that we abuse animals in this way. If one more person tries to tell me the horses enjoy it I will scream. This carnage is not sport!.

I think it's a tad rich to worry about horses dying just as you cram yet another forkfull of Lidle lasagne in.

Animals need to die to be eaten, but a horse doesn't have to be ridden to death to have a flutter.

Fortunately, for a change. The fact this was mentioned on the news as something to comment on says something about this race.

I'd hazard a guess that none of you people have ever ridden a horse or mucked out a horse. Am I right? rolleyes.gif

No, you're wrong. But what has that to do with horse racing?

My parents used to own and keep horses for recreation. I have ridden a horse but I don't like it. They are slow, don't handle and the brakes are rubbish.
