Not personally but I would like to.

I dislike the "newbz crew" type of graffiti however proper, artistic graffiti I really welcome and think it adds a "character" or "life" to a city.

Stuff like this

I'm sure a bunch of people in rose-tinted specs will say how all graffiti-ists are drug addicts or idiots and they steal old ladies' handbags to fund their aerosol addiction but they can suck my spray can. And before anyone gets all angry I don't do graffiti. I did once but it was on my friends garage wall and on the inside, I don't think anyone minds.

It can be art, and it can be vandalism; it depends on whether it is solicited or not, but no, I haven't seen any. Although I am unsure what it is.

Where is it?

I'll try and post a pic, but there's one on the A34 bridge that you see from the Newbury-bound Andover Road in Wash Water, and another on one of the bridge stanchions where the north-bound A34 bypass meets the A339. I'm wondering if there are more. Excellent pieces of art IMHO.

This is the one in Wash Water.

The other one is on the east stanchion of the A4 bridge over the A34 and you can see it if you're heading north.

I'm glad I'm not the only giraffe spotter - made me smile when I first saw the wash water one a couple of weeks ago - and spotted the other one the other day. Still smiling - so thank you to the 'artist'!

That is not a giraffe. Wrong colour and wrong pattern.

There's a giraffe's head appeared on the Northbound link (between Tesco's & BK roundabouts) on the LHS - just it's head.

They made me smile when I first saw them... and every time I have driven passed them since!

Simple things make a lot of people smile, and, if its well executed, why not ?

Its not art. Its vandalism.

The "It's Art!" followers need to have some bugger spraying one on their garden wall overnight to see just how committed they are to the 'Art' cause.....

The first one looks like it has three stumpy legs and a very long tail.........

I prefer these...

The giraffes are in the NWN this week. Two of them anyways, they didn't seem to know about the one on the A34 bridge over Pound Street in Penwood - should have read the NewburyToday forum!
