Seems quite reasonable to me, shocking headline, little substance.

Wow and I thought the Telegraph had ceased long ago! Looks as if they see their role as filling the gap left by the Daily Mail as it goes socialist.

The interesting bit for me was 'British values'. Presumably these are the same ones instilled in me way back?

There seems to be a problem getting the message across; which often surprises those of brought up under more robust educational systems. So, then, why don't the Schools invite some of us to dust off our memories and go into the schools to deliver lessons and lectures on British values?

I agree with what was said. Such ignorance must and should be challenged. The parents should also be brought to book for teaching their kids such prejudices. Schools should teach tolerance and if they are to judge, then judge ones character and how they treat others.

Nicky Morgan's comments were moderate and reasonable. Any number of things that a child might say could trigger a concern of some kind, but it would very much depend on the context.

QUOTE
Andrea Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, said: “Many families believe that marriage should only be between a man and a woman.

“Are these families now to be officially treated with suspicion and even linked with extremism?

Err, no Andrea.

Now move along, nothing to see here.

To answer TM's question in his thread subject - Yes!

To answer the question that was posed; the world has already been mad and will be mad for many years to come (decades or centuries even); in the meantime what can society do to correct those madness's as much as they can? One way to start is to challenge bigots, racists, homophobes etc.. And the best way to start is in our schools and with the young. Otherwise nothing will change for a long time, and in the mean time a lot of hurt will be continued to be administered.

I think you'll find the Government are well ahead GMR! Really waiting for public opinion to catch up. Step one, they are taking responsibility for feeding children, the recent primary school initiative being the first step. If the State is responsible for our child rearing 'soup to nuts' we'll stop this silly nonsense as well as the other dreadful things that happen. A start gas been made..
