In NWN,
http://www.newburytoday.co.uk/2014/firefig...f-a4-in-newbury

report says was a large dog. A South African Ridgeback .

The other journal reports it was a very small dog a CHIHUAHUA.

Which is right I wonder!

Well, I know what a Rhodesian Ridgeback is, but I didn't know there was a South African version.

The firefighter is a keen fisherman, so when the dog is in the water it's massive, but when its out...!

The SA version is obviously a miniature - about the size of a Chihuahua, the two are easily confused. wink.gif

I'm grateful to the Fire and Rescue Service for rescuing the animal, I hope it's OK.

A marksman might have been cheaper! tongue.gif Although I understand that badgers are more difficult to shoot.

I am too, but three units, plus a specialist water crew and command unit seems a bit over the top.

I believe that sometimes they pass these events off as an exercise.

Mmmm. I guess that's a good way of doing it, more realistic than a paddling pool back at the station!
