I've been challenged (apparently as a 'lurker') to 'use my grey matter' and come up with something of interest...so...

It has always intrigued me as to how you all chose your forum names...mine is pretty obvious, I like to 'wabbit, wabbit, wabbit' - like the ghastly Chas & Dave song.

What about some of the other prolific posters on here?...Andy Capp...? Well, according to Wikipedia, the cartoon character Andy Capp surname's "Capp" signifies how Andy's cap always covered his eyes along with, metaphorically, his vision in life. No comment! It could, of course, be an oblique reference to a disability but I doubt anyone would choose to define themselves thus...would they?

Petra? - well, Blue Peter's dog of course. Who else was heartbroken when she died?

Motormad? - obviously loves rambling in the countryside at a gentle pace.

What does your name say about you?

For me, it was simply a reference to my childhood and a cartoon I enjoyed reading. It could have been Asterix or Obelix too, but perhaps Cacophonix might be more apt. I would just pick random names and if anything I would deliberately try to obfuscate my identity and throw people off the sent. With avatars and names people will build a picture of what that person looks like and I am nothing like Andy Capp in looks or attitude, save for the odd pint.

With wabbit I pictured Bugs Bunny (Elma Fudd used to call Bugs that name). With Petra, I pictured a Polish lady. Motormad speaks for itself.

Even people who use their real names, it isn't often they look like one imagines. I suspect this also follows with personality too. I'm fairly sure we would have a different opinion of each other if we were familiar with each other.

I use my xbox name, I was Strafin Stevens on there, strafing being the act of moving position but maintaining focus on a target, usually with a weapon. And it was sort of a homage to Shakin' Stevens.

I shorten it for use on here.

I ended up with 50 or more subtopics including gardening.....!.
They closed it down.Never found why.

So I popped up here.

On the verge of irrationality or madness....the cap fits so I just wear it.

It's real enough but the Mr was often used by a work; probably as an insult, but it stuck!

Obviously my user name is my actual name since I have nothing to hide and nothing controversial to say most of the time. Although I do have a nickname for online gaming purposes since my friends insisted that I should have one.

User, because I'm just another user of this forum.

23, referring to the 23 enigma which is the belief that most incidents and events are directly connected to the number 23.
