New year greetings to the few that remain on here. I have a question that I hope the train users can answer.

I was asked to attend a court session in Guildford this Friday so duly popped into Newbury station and bought my ticket from a helpful ticket office who sorted out what train I needed, so I bought it there and then. Just been informed that my evidence is not required till Monday now.
So boys and girls it states on the ticket that I can transfer my travel day for a "fee". Do I need to change it now or can I do it on Monday?

The National rail web page is about as helpful a colander in a soup kitchen.

To update those who are remotely interested, the whole day was worthy of countless expletives. Firstly the initial ticket was subject to a refund less a £10 fee after submitting a multi-page application. Arrived in Guildford in good time , and spent an hour trudging round in torrential precipitation seeking a cafe for a bite and coffee. Fast food outlets by the score ,but ask for a cheese sandwich and one has more chance of procuring crack cocaine, (so I am reliably informed). Wandered into the courthouse and strip searched by a couple of chaps one wouldn't wish to argue with. Confiscated my pocket knife, (which I now have to apply to the court for), before escorting me to the waiting area. Eventually called after 3 hours, spent all of 5 minutes saying my piece and then back to station as the train was pulling out. Eventually arrived home at 19.30 completely *******.

On a positive I now have made made a conscious decision not to help anyone but to become a miserable old git. cool.gif Comments accepted.

I am also most happy being an old git. I tried for years to be nice...but gave up after one particular incident when I held a door open for what I presumed was a young lady...only to be told and I quote "you mysongyst ****"....I've also had plenty of "what you looking at"...when smiling at people....so head down...no eye contact...headphones on. Welcome to 21st Century Britain.🤣🤣🤣
