Why oh why are we bothering with this ridiculous appeal today to see whether he should be let out at some point? What a waste of tax payers money.

The man's a loon. If they do let him out why not just hand him a couple of hammer's and point him in the direction of the nearest girl's school? sad.gif

Surely this will be the quickest appeal in history (3 seconds?), how much consideration could it possibly take ohmy.gif

Its a shame to think that it doesn't matter what you do in this life, you can always have an appeal. I think there was one recently on the news about two lads that killed and/or raped someone? And they wanted their sentence reduced... Not too sure. Justice system is ***** in this country.

If we had the daeth penalty we would not be having this discussion and much money would have been saved over the past 30 years.

I guess we're too soft... like letting people in to this country for a start! What a coc up that was!

Spot on and if the government want someone to pull the lever, then I'm their man.

I would happily stone him to death ohmy.gif This man and our country disgusts me. How on earth can someone like him have an appeal? Makes me so angry sad.gif

Sean Hodgson, Michael Shirley, Stefan Ivan Kiszko would beg to differ.

Yes, you are correct that the reinstatement of the death penaly would almost certainly mean that one or two innocent people will be unjustly executed because of mistakes beimg made.
However in my opinion you have to balance this against the very many innocent children and vulnerable adults who are being tortured and murdered by people with no fear of prison.
The fear of the death penalty would certainly have a positive effect on this.
I believe that the death penalty should be confined to child killers, police killers and serial killers.

His bid for freedom has ended as he will now stay behind bars for the rest of his life the court has ruled.

But not armed robbers? Interesting viewpoint. Which I'm sure would not change, even if it was someone you cared for that was executed by mistake.

What about those that commit benefit fraud? You'd think they should be first against the wall...

The problem with that is the benefit system and those that abuse it is one of the UK's biggest selling points. Folkers the world over come from every hole imaginable to scrounge and take the p*ss. We wouldn't want our permanent tourist trade ruined now would we?
