I thought you'd have been a Great Western brown and cream man, myself.

Coaching stock was brown & cream (chocolate & custard), passenger locomotives were green old chap!! wink.gif

The muppetry at the NWN is not just confined to language use.

I saw an item in the latest edition which talked about an equestrian event in Yattendon...it was accompanied by a photo of the West Berkshire Classic Vehicle 2014 show at Newbury College!

WHAT IS GOING ON NWN??

For a couple of months I have been wondering why the NWN homepage has a 'Picture of the Day' section showing Xmas news images?

We've gone all American in Newbury town centre in this report.
I think they must use the same English (US) spellchecker as on this forum!! tongue.gif

The spell checker is in your browser, not the forum.
If I type "center centre" only the first one has a squiggly red line under it.
If it's the opposite for you, you need to check your browser settings wink.gif

If you mean the "bad word" filter, then I agree it's the crazy American version on the forum (which I am sure is just a list that could be edited by the mods).

Interesting Jeff.
I have checked my settings and cannot find where to set default spelling language.
If I type centre center then the the first one has the squiggly line.
Have a English (UK) dictionary add on.
Using Firefox.
Any ideas?

I googled it and found this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do...x-spell-checker which should solve your problem. Just click on the link that says "Switching dictionaries". Hope that helps. You probably installed the UK dictionary, but omitted to switch to it.

(I use Chrome myself.)

Typing "center centre" I get the red squiggly under the former. I thought there were two different words, one as in "the center of a circle" and another as in a "shopping centre", but it turns out I was wrong and it's like you say, just a UK/US thing. I think I was conflating it with the meter/metre thing.

There is also (computer) program and (TV or anything else) programme. No red squiggly line under either for those smile.gif

Cracked it!
Thanks Jeff.
Tried Chrome but didn't get on as well with it as FF.
I suppose it's down to personal taste and what you are used to.

Yes the metre / meter one is a regular confusion with many. rolleyes.gif
