"A great bill for the 60s concert on Sunday August 1 has got even better with the addition of the legendary Merseybeat sensations The Searchers. Their No 1 hit singles included Sweets For My Sweet, Needles and Pins and Don’t Throw Your Love Away and these were just a few of the hits that kept the band running neck and neck for chart supremacy with The Beatles."

I saw Tony Jackson, leader singer of the Searchers, at Newbury's corn exchange singing all the Searchers hits. Sadly he is now dead. Died in 2003. He was also the bass player.
