QUOTE (urZah @ May 12 2010, 06:26 PM) What's the usual time before they get moved along I hope it's not more than half an hour. This is really bad news.

QUOTE (pinkfluffyclouds @ May 13 2010, 06:02 PM) http://www.newburytoday.co.uk/News/Article...articleID=13300Seems they have been given notice to leave and the Council are hoping they will be gone tonight. And it's to be hoped WBC will obtain cash, of which they'll have wads of (untaxed), to pay for the clearance not taxpayers??If not forthcoming, I suggest they could remove one of their high end vehicles normally present on such sites, and keep somewhere safe until ££ received.

QUOTE (Strafin @ May 13 2010, 11:57 PM) Looks like they've gone. Yes, and I bet they got away with whatever the"criminal damage" they commited was. Did the Council, Police, anyone in authority follow this up?

Just to clear up some understandable confusion, the area the travellers parked on is not owned by West Berkshire Council, but by Newbury Town Council, whose officers very quickly got involved in moving the travellers on. I understand the area is now clear and damage is being assessed. If you would like more information please contact the Town Hall, Market Place. Regards David Allen Newbury Town Councillor

David Allen Newbury Town Councillor Hello Mr Allen. Good to hear you repond to this. I also agree with the reply you had from TD&H. My concern is that none of the Travelers will be held reponsible for the damage done and the tax payer will be picking up the bill yet again. This casual and irresponsible behaviour of this group of people needs to be stopped and they need to be held accountable for the mess they leave behind. Thanks you.

QUOTE (Strafin @ May 14 2010, 09:55 AM) Somebody must have done something, I have to say that was a very quick response from whoever sorted it. Unless they just decided Newbury wasn't for them... The Council did it NTC that is..............

QUOTE (Bill1 @ May 14 2010, 10:18 AM) WRONG! Yes Bill in this instance you are correct however you can understand why people are so fed up with this continued abuse of the rules that the rest of us abide by.
