QUOTE (Jamoza @ Sep 11 2009, 05:18 PM) Farmers spreading stuff on their fields?... AKA muck spreading. I would have thought so, it's that time of year for it. It's one of the drawbacks living so close to the country!

It's one of the drawbacks living so close to the country! It has definitely been the unmistakable smell of muck-spreading. Having lived in London for quite a few years I welcome the different smells and noises that mean I am close to the countryside again. A country-girl am I. I love hearing the sound of.......church bells on a Sunday morning, foxes arguing, cows mooing, deer barking, owls hooting......... I love it and I will never want it to stop. Ok back to reality, it was the smell of farmers spreading their 'compost' on their fields to increase the quality of their crops for the next year.

QUOTE (GMR @ Sep 11 2009, 07:01 PM) I love to hear Church bells so much that I tried to buy an album of the sound.... but I couldn't get it anywhere. There's nothing to stop you making your own music, you know...

QUOTE (Good Boy Racer @ Sep 11 2009, 04:58 PM) I have noticed for the passed few days now, where ever i go in Newbury... and in Thatcham, there is an awful smell looming, it's everywhere! Do we have a serious problem? Or are there more and more people buying cats for pets?
I do know that there is a sewage plant down Lower Way.
Can you smell anything at your end? Iv'e checked my end and it's not me.
