My name is Robert Bruce, I’m the founder of P45camp UK and I want to launch P45camp at Newbury. Why? Because I am local and I am out of work.

If you were told to pack up your personal belongings because your job was made redundant or if you were unfairly dismissed you qualify to be a P45camper. What is a P45camper? It is a common monicker or denominator for all of those people in UK who have received their P45 thanks to the banks and greedy stockbrokers creating the worst global recession so far this century.

As a P45camper you probably spend a large part of your day at the Job Centre or camping online at recruitment & jobsearch websites, refining your CV to match a job spec, setting up new job searches, waiting and hoping that your phone will ring with an interview date for a new job, or praying that your dream job that perfectly matches your experience, skills and talents will be among those published online each day.

It is tough. Very stressful and extremely difficult on your family too. And maybe now you could do with some support from people in the same situation as you.

P45camp is a free event for out of work people aimed at providing you a chance to connect with potential employers, local entrepreneurs, recruitment agency staff and affiliated specialists for help with writing your killer CV, launching your jobsearch campaign, guidance on interview techniques and also receive free advice on insurance and importantly, how to manage your finances in the recession and how to plan, create & live on a very tight budget.

P45camp is also where you can get a great chance to form or join a local network of unemployed people from Newbury and surrounding villages.

But first, the event needs to be planned and organised. So, if you would like to help organise the Newbury P45camp or are a local business wanting to hire skilled & talented people, an entrepreneur who can inspire us to start our own businesses or if you represent the recruitment industry wanting to find local candidates for jobs, you are welcome to attend an informal meet-up at Costa Coffee, Northbrook St, Newbury on Thursday 18th June 2009 at 11:30am. Or you can contact me at robert@p45camp.com or call me on my mobile +44 (0)77 6767 2121 for further information.

If you just want to arrive, search me out. I’ll be there with a P45camp poster.

I hope to meet you at Costa's this coming Thursday from 11:30am

I presume you have spoken with Costa Coffee to let them know that you are going to use their premises for your meeting? Have you spoken with any local business people asking them to attend?

Good luck with your search.

Many thanks for the responses.

I shall as a courtesy speak to Costa management to forewarn them that aside from normal daily patronage, their customers may be boosted by another smallish group.

I do not anticipate that more than 5 people will come to the meeting. It is a 'call' for volunteers to help plan the P45camp. Local business attendance is not required but if a business wishes to assist, then I will be delighted to accept their participation.

Regards

RB

At Costa Coffee's management suggestion a table for 10 has been reserved at the Costa Coffee shop for this Thursday at 11:30am.

Thanks to Andrea at Costa who was so helpful, hospitable and delightful to speak to.
