I'm no fan of Brown, and this obviously isn't very good PR, but it doesn't sound like he necessarily was wrong in calling this woman a bigot.

I've just seen the UKIP election broadcast, shakey start with Frank Maloney but otherwise pretty convincing. In fact it convinced me and probably Mrs Strafin who so far has shown nothing but contempt for all politicians.

Also; Nigel Farage has got his memoirs out... I've just ordered it from Amazon. In 1992 by-election in Newbury I helped him and Alan Skedd (who stood as a candidate here) fight the seat.  No matter how this is spun, it is a major gaff. The woman was expressing concern and his reaction is, 'you bigot'. Ironically, with this display, Gordon Brown is displaying bigotry himself. |
