Further to the rant about the Grand National being cruel I think that the London Marathon should also be banned.
How many more runners do we need to lose? People seem to die every year in this cruel and barbaric race. |

I'm assuming that this facetious post is a reference to the tragic death of a female competitor on Sunday. An appalling loss for the young woman's family, but unfortunately it happens. Get 40,000 people together for half a day and the chances of one of them dying is statistically quite high just because that's a lot of people and we all have to go some time. On balance being fit and taking exercise is far better for your physical and mental health than not. -------------------- Right an injustice - give Simon Kirby his allotment back!

Like walking across the road (more people die walking across the road than running marathons). Maybe we should just ban people dying? |
