Local WBC Council votes:
(Downlands Ward)

I've just received my postal voting forms, and I find it puzzling that just one candidate
refuses to show their home address.?
That is the Labour Candidate, a Mr Murphy.
Previously has shown a Chaddleworth residence.

West Berkshire and Newbury Town Councils have a couple of Labour Councillors with no address shown. Perhaps they are too embarrassed to let neighbours know they are standing for councilors?
As the Nationals have proven that democracy is now dead is there any point in voting?
Of all the candidates standing there is not one that I can vote for so therefore will be spoiling my papers! angry.gif

Perhaps the poor chap is homeless? By getting a job as a councillor he would be in a better position to obtain one? Just a thought. cool.gif

Nah.. he has probably been "parachuted in by momentum. Do you remember when the Tories did that with Mr Blobby after Judith Chaplin sadly passed?

Parachuted implies some sort of action. Labour have no chance here.

Everyone has a chance.

I found out at the weekend Labour and conservatives are the only two parties fielding candidates in every ward. I think it's extremely interesting that Labour have gone from almost no support whatsoever, to a position where they are able to match the tories in terms of numbers.

These and the seemingly inevitable European elections will be ABC* elections.

* Anybody But the Conservatives

I certainly won't bother to vote at the local elections - they are all a bad as each other - none of the above.

Even the 'viral' ones? You quote polls ad infinitum. When it suits of course.

I was being sarcastic as people had been dismissing the polls that show a majority wish to remain but one that shows Brexit doing well is being highlighted. I reckon what would make the elections really interesting is if Labour offer a second referendum.

Any party who is stupid enough to offer a third referendum would feel the wrath of the electorate. A possible repeat of the last 3 years is enough to send most of us to the funny farm.

Well most people now want to remain so in what way would this wrath be felt?
