Christmas time is about God, Jesus, sharing and love... that is why I gave somebody a book about God; "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. I hope you all have been thoughtful on this special time of year? Let us all take a moment and think of Richard Dawkins wise words; God is an illusion, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't celebrate Christmas and Easter as a commercial concern. In times of Austerity let us make Christmas and New year a good one for all the shops out there; after all capitalism must rule.

Merry Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas to you too!!! wink.gif

Whilst I do not agree that capitalism should rule, I do agree wholeheartedly with Mr Dawkins.
Religion was invented as a tool to keep the masses down and under control.

Don't they? If not I suppose they might be celebrating the birth of one of their greatest prophets - chap called Jesus.

Happy Christmas all.

They do. Well, I say they do, it depends on what job they are doing. In some areas where there are a lot of Muslims shops like Sainsbury's and Tesco's are open on Christmas day.

Yes they do; they are not all strictly religious and yes, they do drink alcohol (at least some of them).

The Lamb in Curridge is Muslim run, but I would accept an argument that it is more of a restaurant.

I tried to make a discreet comment via a joke. The implication is that Christians work when there's money to be made from selling pints, even on Christmas day, but perhaps Muslims might be more likely to take their religious obligations more seriously than Christians.

Likewise we haven't heard one from you either; maybe you could put that in your New Year's Resolution. " I will try to be more bloody obvious when I crack a funny in future." Then we'll all come to love you as the clown you wish to be know as.... or not as the case may be. wink.gif

Merry Christmas and a happy New year to you and your family.

Like I said, 'I tried', but perhaps I am not funny, so I might try and learn from that in the future and take other people's comprehension skills into account.

Or maybe they should take your comprehensioin skills into account? That way people will see what you write in a different light. The problem I see with that is when you are being serious people might start to crack up. wink.gif
