I'd humbly suggest the classic English response does fit here. France is a lovely country, just a shame about the French! We are out of Europe soon, so the rest of the World is your oyster - go and enjoy.

We are not leaving Europe. We're leaving the EU. Geographically the UK will remain where We are. We will be the same distance from the rest of the world as we are now!

Dear god. How old are you? 3? I'm "hoirible" because my views differ?

No I think youre horrible because of the language you use, because of the way you present your arguments and belittle anyone who has different views to you. I can tell from the words use and the your opinions that you're older, probably in your sixties and definetly male. That doest matter so much but you build a picture and I bet I'm not far off. So I don't know you personally but based on what you put here I don't think much of you. I disagree with plenty on here and it's not a problem.

I very much doubt you have ever met me or indeed have a clue who I am!

I thought you were at the meet up we had some years ago at the hogshead? Could be wrong but it's not important. In fact it's better because you're a horrible person. And the person I met there seemed ok.

"There is a widespread view among practitioners of female genital muatilation (FGM) that it is a religious requirement, although there is no unequivocal link between the practice and religion"

The first line of the link you've posted suggests otherwise. Also I didn't say Muslims don't do it, I said it is not exclusively Muslim. Perhaps if your inbred boss eyes weren't swivelling around so much you would read and comprehend a little better. Honestly I met you once and thought you were alright, what happened?

It is islamaphobic to criticise Muslims over FGM becaise it's not a Muslim problem. It's practised by plenty of backwards people who all believe in different made up deities.

And guess what's comrade Jeremy is chauffered around in? That's right, after calling for a total ban on killer diesel he's in a ? Yeah, guessed it, a diesel. Class act.

As leader of the opposition he is allocated a government funded car and driver. They fund it and I'm pretty sure they pick it.

Benyon supports fox hunting, badger culling, and voted not to include the animal sentience clause in the recent vote about adopting EU guidelines into law.

That's an interesting point to add, is there any reason for it? Is it based on something I mean or just something you've made up in your mind?

But at the end of the day it gives the snowflakes and some hairy warted woman in a tweed suit and sensible shoes the feeling they're doing something for 'the sisterhood'. Lots of jobs don't 'need' to be done, don't need a greeter at the car dealership, don't need someone to make me a skinny latte, don't need need people from charities ringing me up, but they do. As you say, "its a job". Sadly.

I have never seen a greeter in a car dealership, receptionist maybe. Some mobile and not deskbound who organise the first part of your experience and make sure you're getting the right help. The people from charities are generating revenue for said charity and presumably commission for the company that pays them. The grid girls do nothing to help the sport, they are there purely to look pretty. They don't necessarily need to be completely removed on my opinion but the role needs to be changed to make F1 bosses appreciate the value

But it's a job, and I'll bet no one asked the girls if they minded losing it.

Of course not, because they know what the answer would be. But I doubt it's a job, It's probably a gig through an agency and not so much lost as discontinued. But my point is that it is not a job that offers any value. Nothing changes if they are not there.

Personally I think only girls should be allowed to drive in F1 and then maybe we could have young men in lycra parading around the pits.
Seriously though, as you point out what are the girls who are presently employed in this field expected to do? Tescos here we come.

Doing a job that's not needed, not required and offers no value, because you happen to be a (good looking) woman, is as bad as being on benefits.

I think the issue is that many are unhappy with the way we currently objectify people and how our society values looks over talent sometimes.

The issue here, and it's the same with the darts, the grid girls offer no value. They don't sell anything, they're not really doing a job that is needed and ultimately even if it's only a minority who object, It's a great excuse to save a few quid.

https://www.newburytoday.co.uk/news/home/23...t-capacity.html

I read this story and felt sad that there is still a problem with this somewhere as affluent as Newbury, and I still do think it's sad. However I also read about all the local businesses and people donating their good services and time to help out. So whilst the story has a bad side, it's noce to know that there are still people in the world who haven't given up and are still trying to make a difference and succeeding.

Just Curious though...

Is it a paid position? Is it a full time role or one that sits alongside another? How much time does anofficer need to dedicate to this? The forum is getting upset but there is no detail to this at all. Other than that it is an internal only post.

I use metric all the time even started doing binary and everything, laugh.gif Yes I think a working knowledge of the old units should be taught, its part of our history.

Should we all be speaking Latin as well then? Or Aramaic? Should we teach glassblowing in schools? Fox hunting is part of our history should we bring that back? Cannibalism Maybe?

There's always the jealous neighbour somewhere, 'oh he's got a better car, who does he think he is' type. Way of life for some people, same as the little sod who keyed my range rover the other week, always one.

When you go round upsetting people, they do things that are silly but they find themselves able to justify their actions. I wouldn't condone it but I won't be losing any sleep either.

It's interesting to note that the proposed extension appears to be considered more anti-social than than driving in an inebriated condition....

It isn't but because it's in the daily mail they will focus on the condemning someone for daring to question someone with money.
