A Prince Philip quote on church sermons which overran: "The mind cannot absorb what the backside cannot endure." laugh.gif

Others...

When after a long flight, the umpteenth eager-to-please official asked him: 'How was your flight?', he replied: 'Have you been on a plane? Well, you know how it goes up in the air and then goes back down again? Well, it was just like that.'

Following the Coronation in 1953 he turned to Her Majesty and said: 'Where did you get that hat?'

Ahh, a wonderfull man, full of wit and intelligence, sadly, too often misreported and misquoted in the "redtops" in order to gain sensationist headlines and to stoke up controversy. Happy Birthday Sir and many more of them.

That was my sentiment until I saw his interview with Fiona Bruce.
I thought he made himself look stupid. Why did he agree to do the interview if he was not going to cooperate. He let himself down I think.

Yes, he's arrogant and therefore rude, but also witty and funny. He's also 90 years old, which would account for some things.

Didn't see the interview with Fiona Bruce, but watched the one with Alan Titchmarsh and it was cringe worthy. Why don't they a strong interviewer for these things.

At 90, he's probably fed up with being asked the same "danm fool questions"

Probably true but then he should not have agreed to the interview in the first place.

Perhaps he agreed but only to certain questions and they overstepped the mark? Perhaps he hates doing them but feels that he should as he is funded by the taxpayer? Perhaps he had done a long day of interviews and had just about had enough by that point?
