It has often been said that we do not so much require more police as less criminals ,but one can understand the mindset of a less than scrupulous individual who sees the chance of making a dishonest buck when he/she knows that the boys in blue are unlikely to appear anytime soon .

Maybe we should go back to private vigilante groups ? Certainly they would be more cost effective and probably more reassuring to the local populace . sad.gif

You would have thought the local Kintbury/Hungerford policing might be a bit more up front considering that the Police and Crimes commissioner lives in the middle of the patch. Perhaps the council might have invited him along, after all, the Conservative PCC, Anthony Stansfeld, is also the West Berks Councillor for Kintbury.
