If it's for things like passport or driving licence photos then I'm not too sure where there are any actual booths, but they can take those photos at the Post Office, and I think Snappy Snaps also do them. I don't know for sure, but something tells me that Boots may have one of the booths.

There's one in the booking hall at the railway station. (If it's working!)

I work for MI5 so need to take many photos for different passports. I am actually James Bond.... the film character was modelled on me..... but keep that to yourself, otherwise I'd have to kill you wink.gif

If the photo is for a passport I recommend Snappy Snaps next to St. Nic's church. They have the equipment and expertise to take photos of the approved type, which will be accepted by the Passports Office.
When I renewed my passport a couple of years ago I used them and had no problem. However, the woman in front of me in the queue at the Post Office, who was getting a passport for her son, had used a do-it-yourself booth, and the application was rejected by the trained clerk at the special window.

The poor woman had to go away and get another set of pictures. False economy.

Timpsons in the Kennet Centre did my son's a few months ago, & if it's declined by the Passport Office Timpson's re-do FOC...at least they did then.

I did my passport photos in the booth at the Post Office with no problem. As long as you remember to draw back the curtain behind you (to reveal the white background) and don't smile there should be no problem.

But if you're not sure exactly what's required, then having someone take them ensures they will be OK. (Reading the application form should be enough.)

my a*se, I have known several people who have paid for the 'check and send' service only to have their applications rejected by the passport office. And not been able to get a refund from the post office.

Read the instructions properly and no one should have a problem.

Thanks for the replies, I didn't know about the one at the station, and that proved most accessible for a wheelchair user.
