Just spotted on Twitter that the only flying Vulcan bomber in the world will be flying over Newbury later this afternoon...

depart RAF Brize Norton 1550,
display RAF Odiham 1620,
return to RAF Brize Norton 1655

So should be over Newbury around 4..

Just thought it would be a good spotting chance!

Saw it on Saturday at the Fairford Air Show. Absolutely beautifully amazing and well worth going outside to wait for it to go over. Just hope the cloud cover is not too dense and low?

I hope people got to see it. I grew up in the flight path of Greenham Common (I SAID I GREW IN THE FLIGHT PATH OF GREENHAM COMMON - sorry bit hard of hearing these days laugh.gif ) when they were supplying the Middle East campaign from the airbase.

After it basically decommissioned we saw the Vulcan bomber do a flyover (we thought at the time that it was the very last time it would be in flight though clearly not) and it was an amazing experience - quite unlike any other flyover I ever saw (and as a former RAF cadet, I've seen a lot!).

I spotted the Vulcan bomber flying north of basingstoke around 1620, just before that the Red Arrows flew over the office.

perfect show of English air power biggrin.gif

Yes, a wonderful sight. Hopefully we get a Lightning airborne again soon.

The RAF should have replaced this wonderful bomber with an equivalent. Ever since, we have been saddled with sub-standard pan-European crap.
