I do. Their filthy, disgusting, cruel, inhuman "wet" markets were the source of this scourge and previous ones.

Before your blood pressure returns to something like normal, how about this for a world that hasn't learnt a bloody thing.

One would have hoped that the whole thing would make us stand back for a moment and take stock of our position, but no we still believe the planet is there for our usage. angry.gif

If only we had known ohmy.gif ohmy.gif Not sure if this is sprog number 5 or 6? Anyhow he is obviously ensuring a hefty supply of tory voters over the coming years.
Have you noticed the deafening silence from the pro euro brigade when animal welfare is mentioned? Shame on us right wing bunny loving retards.

Fox hunting is banned.
Bullfighting is legal and celebrated in Spain and thousands flock to this sick spectacle.

Least the fox had a fighting chance to avoid the hounds, but to rear an animal for the purpose of torturing it to death with no chance of it leaving the arena alive is sickening. And their bloody god, or at least it's earthly representatives, condones it. angry.gif angry.gif

Yes, yes I do. Glad it's banned. If people feel the need to go hunting there are lots of poor people around.

Wonder how many of the pro hunting club see the coronavirus as a kindred spirit? Different matter all together when something kills you. Hypocritical b******s angry.gif

The Tories at the last election before one had unbanning it high on their list of things to do as I recall. But as you probably know, the ban is openly flouted. But are you ok with fox hunting though? I think bull fighting should be banned by the way. It’s abhorrent.

All hunting and more specifically killing of animals for sport ought to be banned.

Can't remember who made this quote but I kept it for posterity and is always very relevant.

"The torment and killing of animals for entertainment, or for cultural reasons, can never be acceptable. It is cruel and outdated, and has no place in a modern society"

Personally I think this pandemic may be Nature's way of reminding us of this and a few other things?

if we don't learn some lessons from this then next time she may not be so kind!!

Of course it should stay banned. Surprised you had to ask.🙄

Completely correct in your prediction but I have yet to hear a single politician / scientist / empty vessel raise this issue and warn of the path we are on. The "wet" markets of asia are still operating despite the chinese saying they were going to stop them and one assumes the rest of the world is still treating the planet as it's larder / playground in the face of the obvious.
It is easy to say "There are none so blind as those who will not see," but surely at least on member of parliament has a brain, haven't they? Viruses have been around darned sight longer than we have so it does seem fitting that they deliver the coup de grace

You show me a president / prime minister / general despot who will send beijing that little memo. For all it's huff and puff the west has the impotency of a dead pontiff. Better to lose a few million people than upset the gravy train.

I’m in agreement. The only thing is, it’s not the wet markets. Wet markets sell meat and are everywhere. It’s just the unusual species that are sold in some markets. I did read that the reason such strange animals are eaten it’s to do with previous famines and having to eat strange things. I’m not sure if that’s true.

When you think what this has cost us economically, refusing to trade with China unless it’s stopped would be a small price in comparison.

Yes, as a bare minimum they should prohibit the sale of live bats in wet markets.

Yup, and pangolins, not eating a creature that's verging on extinction would be good. Oh and stopping the ivory trade might be nice, and the sale of tiger bones, what about live puppies for food? Or live mice (a delicacy). These Chinese markets are a disgrace to humanity but people still won't condemn them cos, cultural.

Why just bats? Do you suffer from Chiroptophobia? laugh.gif It is not so much the species, (as the virus does not differentiate between mammals, only the the effect once ingested), as the singular lack of hygiene at these places. The hapless animal being chopped into portions while blood and secretions are spouting in all directions is the problem. (Sorry if you are still eating your toast and marmalade).
Such a move would be nigh on impossible to police anyway and as it's most unlikely to happen the status quo will remain.......Until the next time. angry.gif
