Well that was a close call - I was close to making an offer on a car 3D are advertising on Autotrader. (The are advertising far higher prices on the forecourt than they are on Autotrader - not sure if that's allowed either.)

Multiple dangerously defective vehicles on sale at the same time - plus some nasty and dodgy business practices too.

I doubt the £23,800 fine is enough really.

I'm amazed that any dealer is stupid enough to behave this way considering the protection consumer regulations give.

I'm not aware of anything wrong with the car I was going to buy, but it's not worth the risk if the dealer is untrustworthy. Plenty of other cars from other sellers. So no sale!

Well done Berkshire Trading Standards.

Anyway, a heads up. I know who to avoid when buying a car.

Surprised WBC T'S Dept slumbered into action.

When I had issues with branch of national retailer I e mailed info, but it just generated automatic response saying, basically we have no interest.
It stated you must now use CAB.

Tried OXON CC TSD as retailers HO @ Thame- same auto response from them.

Yes, I went there with my son looking for a car for him.
Luckily, due to the shambolic appearance of the site and, even worse, the proprietors, I close to walk away very quickly.
I expect they will now dissolve the company and start up under another name as they have done before.

Whilst the faults mentioned seem fairly minor, I have had a similar experience looking at a car there. It was a complete shed and nobody there seemed to take any interest or pride in their work.

Basically a moron.

Doesn't really take a mathematics degree to figure out it was a negative.

Not sure who you are calling a moron. A negative for the adverse report in the NWN otherwise difficult to determine the honesty of a trader.

I deduce that he was talking about the proprietor of 3D Car Sales.

I didn't realise that this was a competition to see who could decipher a poorly worded post, not once but twice. Are you a politician by any stretch of the imagination.

I see 3D are no more and a new car sales company has opened on the site.
I presume (may be wrong) that it is the same outfit?

Was it one of their cars that crashed into the park in Thatcham? Or was that just a false rumour?

So the domain name & owner changes. But they use the same obscure Danish domain name registrar. Funny that.

From their website:

"Large Motor Company, Largest motor comapny in newbury." (sic)

So professional...
