What they do in their private lives is up to them as far as I am concerned. I am furious that we paid for his suit hire at a cost of £135. What on earth did he have, pure silk? A quick look at Moss Bros where evening/formal suits are £51 and includes dinner suit, shirt, bow tie, matching cummberbund and handkerchief.

Some quality DM reporting there

"at the £250,000 home in Aylesbury,"

Why put the value in? That's hardly relevant and for that sum, not a mansion.

Why would she apply for re-mbursement when he could do so? Same source for the payment, after all. Could one think it was an expense her own rules would say was not appropriate so she applied to get the money back under her authority? "Don't do as I do, do as I tell you", versus "Equalitie, Egalitie, Fraternitie"?

An outrageous sum in any case, and awful PR

It's very relevant, the story is about her claiming expenses, if she lived in a box we would have some sympathy, and 250 grand in my book is rather a lot. She doesn't need to be on the fiddle.

Wrong person!! The house referred to is the home of Supt Houalla.
Looking at the average prices I don't see an automatic reason for saying the home is OTT. We only think Newbury is the most expensive rural area to live in!

It does not state if she claimed any expenses for her own outfit as well??

Would be interesting to see all the expenses claimed for the evening? wink.gif

I'd rather suspect someone who sees a running thread has 'put in the call', and if someone is minded to take up the cause then there may be more.
Maybe not, but upset staff can be a true enemy within....
