No wonder you lose members when you get this from a member who shows all the traits, and worse, of the person that he is glad to see dead, it makes me puke.

"Brilliant news. What a tool, now he's dead. I think maybe in the 70's he probably had a bit of a following, but I only know him for being a judgemental, petulant, egotistical and pretentious fool."

I too will bid you goodbye and will not be taken any further part. Pity really as there are a FEW really nice posters on here.

As stated on here before, when I lived in France I ate quite a lot of it and nice it was too. I have trouble with being conned into eating it instead of the real thing, beef. The added worry is that some horses have some very strong medication pumped into them at times that is still there when they are slaughtered and humans are getting that into them also.

Seems we can't even make a decent diesel engine these days! sad.gif

I think PERKINS might disagree a tad with that.

There is a big problem is with Elver taking which hits the eel population badly. We used to make our own Hives or Griggs out of willow and hazel at one time, but fyke nets although expensive are the way most go these days. Re freshwater fish. It was not until the railways came in that people stopped eating course fish in preference for sea fish. Taking fish inland meant most of it went off before it got there. And the monasteries always had stew-ponds full of freshwater fish for the table.

Smoked eel taste better than smoked salmon INHO. I eat eel in all its forms, jellied, smoked, baked, fried. Same with Carp, eaten lots of it in China and Vietnam but cannot say I am too taken with it. The French eat Carp also. Funny situation with eels at the moment as it is thought that the population of eels is vastly depleted but no one knows exactly why. We use Fyke nets to catch eels for the Dutch and London markets.

I lived and worked in France for quite awhile and ate tons of the stuff. I think I would have been better off eating rather than backing some of the ones I have. But always check the eggs. laugh.gif

The person with the 700 pounds worth cannot afford to take the hit at all. He asked all his family to get him vouchers for his birthday so he could get himself a camera.

I feel sorry for the people that have gift vouchers that are not going to be honoured. One chap on the radio had over 700 pounds worth and went in yesterday and he was not allowed to exchange them for goods. They are now worthless and that must be wrong.

It will do I think. Although T4 has a few outlets the net will gobble them up in the end.

If Jessops was still going this lens which is second hand in this add would cost approx £95.000 new, thats a lot of saving.

I would have thought your camera is with a third party repair centre.
Is there any info on the receipt?

Slight problem. Received an email from them a few days ago saying the camera was repaired and ready to be picked up. It is not in the Newbury shop but a shop a considerable way away.

Although I do/did use Jessops quite a lot I do buy on line. When I bought my Nikon D4 I saved a thousand pounds buying on line as against Jessops prices. Cannot afford to turn that sort of money saving down.

The evening news said they had already stopped taking gift vouchers and so on. If they do shut overnight I do not know where I stand as they do not do any repairs themselves, but farm that sort of work out. How do I get it back? Jessop's web site is up and running as normal, or it was a couple of hours ago.
