That's a very good point. In fact, that could be a job for the Town Council, why don't we just get them to collect our charity donations and decide which charity we should support. Then we wouldn’t need chuggers at all.

It is not difficult at all to avoid them.

1. You walk
2. one approaches you
3. you say no thank you.
4. You carry on walking.
5. End.

If that's the case then you haven't avoided them have you?

That's right, the best way to avoid chuggers is to find somewhere else to shop and let the people who lose out know why.

I agree Andy.

Anyway, I went into WH Smith today and there was not a chugger in sight. Maybe WH Smith saw trade fall off a cliff..I'd not be surprised...

They're just inside the left hand door so as to catch the non-purchasing magazine readers!! tongue.gif

A newish trend outside London transport hubs are gangs of Watchtower folk.
All nicely dressed, with a smile for everyone. They are not meant to talk, but if you seem interested
you will be invited to have your soul gathered into the holy bosom ...or something like that. biggrin.gif

What impressed me on the same day I was accosted was a Salvation Army lady in uniform standing in the street bothering no-one waiting for people to come tom her to donate.
(And no, I didn't because I don't support that charity, but then I certainly wouldn't give my details to a chugger.)

What a shame that Tesco are so deep in the sh**, as I noticed twice last week that they had allowed some people to take up residence next to the front exit door (inside by the windows) in the Tesco Metro in town.

Must be because they really the extra money!
