New year greetings to the few that remain on here. I have a question that I hope the train users can answer.

I was asked to attend a court session in Guildford this Friday so duly popped into Newbury station and bought my ticket from a helpful ticket office who sorted out what train I needed, so I bought it there and then. Just been informed that my evidence is not required till Monday now.
So boys and girls it states on the ticket that I can transfer my travel day for a "fee". Do I need to change it now or can I do it on Monday?

The National rail web page is about as helpful a colander in a soup kitchen.

If you return your unused ticket to the place where you purchased it on the day of travel shown on the ticket you can have a full refund.
If you return the unused ticket after the day of travel shown you will get a refund minus a £10 admin charge.
You would then have to purchase a new ticket for the day you intended to travel.

Thank you Biker1. Thought it a bit steep to charge £10 but as my train experience of the present system is limited I saw no reason to question it.
In response the TDH's assumption that I am guilty of some heinous crime all I can say is "No Comment!" rolleyes.gif
