I am a retired police officer who settled in Newbury in 1999 as a result of meeting my soulmate. Although no longer a serving officer I am still involved in researching and lecturing regarding in criminology and criminal justice issues, and act as an adviser on such issues to a number of organisations.
As well as being an advocate for people suffering from the indignity of intolerance, I am also passionate about and involved in improving health and social care services within the district, as well as the development of true multi-agency service delivery that benefits the community.
Politically, I am a former member of the Labour Party, but left as a result of its desire to drop its previously held stance on social and welfare reform and seek solace in 'The City', thereby walking away from its traditionally held cores values. I joined the Liberal Democrat Party because its core values are rooted in equality and fairness and aiding people to fulfil their potential.
I live within the Clay Hill Ward of Newbury, and I was one of the Liberal Democrat Councillor's for Victoria Ward, until I resigned in 2014 as a result of 'blowing the whistle' on the mismanagement of tens of thousands of pounds of public money, and then being harassed and victimised for not remaining silent.
