CE could hold you enthralled for hours on his life in PNG and in later life his dealings with the "luvvies" but beware his flounce if upset.

Problem I worry about is, how many people on here would actually show up.... I have a feeling most of those who shout the loudest on here, in real life would be quite the wilting flower. Not talking about being violent or anything, I just mean, they are quite outspoken on the forum... Doubt they would say it in RL.

I think the bigger issue isn't the timid ones, but the ones that are not.

Too kind Biker After all, he is popular with many on here! & Northender.
Sadly I am really too far off the planet for such things of an evening. Lunchtimes....

Any way after the thread about motors and stamps I have booked in for a snake oil change outside Norwich.
I know it is brake fluid but I thought it amusing. So I have to travel on Monday16th to get there early on Tuesday,
They also give the car a thorough test drive to check for strange rattles and a sort of pre-mot check as well.
They drive me over to a huge retail park so I can look at things I don't need.

Did I tell you about Frank Oz and his family or was it John Huston. I hope the gathering works.

Oh well I may as well get my moneysworth today, I am sure most are doing something useful.

We used to transport an aged cat to Norfolk about 15 years ago.We are also blessed with many ordinary newts.
There are almost invisible gaps between the floor and skirting boards.
One evening we were entranced by a tiny head making it's way through. very slowly.
The cat roused itself from in front of the fire. Saw the newt and ate it," That wasn't very nice we said".

I am sure Aesop would have had a word to say on the subject.

I can just see him, sipping absinthe and smoking his Gauloises. It would be very convivial.

Never got the hang of smoking anything.
Absinthe? I am no impressionist. No I am a simple gent with a fondness for Fullers.
It might be fun but it would mean an overnight stop. At my age I am not allowed out by matron after dark.

Aw shucks. Talk about arm twisting. Strangely enough On the Edge I was thinking last night
about joining and taking the punishment on the chin. Late night thoughts are best left till the morning.

So I will turn up. I know the pub of old.I had been planning a visit down memory lane.
So this seems a good chance to combine a mooch around south of Newbury. Old haunts.
Lunch at the Dundas Arms. A stroll down the glamour of Parkway. At least I will know what you are all talking about.
And later some new faces. Could be fun.

Who needs brakes anyway. I will PM Simon Kirby my e-mail and mobile just in case. He seems to be head honcho.

I think you should all dress up as panto dames rather than the usual newspaper under the arm and a pink carnation to recognise each other.

Timbo , don't get too excited.
I tried to downsize the old smoker,
some years ago and the chap said don't even think about it. It is still a far better car.Than these 3 series.
Not bad for an 8 year old beast. I suppose I should remove the chainsaw from the boot.

I hope all goes according to plan for 17th Sept. I have just booked in at The Chequers .
An old family haunt once, long ago. Close enough for a totter back.

Sorry about Max Bygraves. I Spent a year working with him. A year on his "singalongamax" stage show.
Hugely popular and a nice chap as well. Packed houses twice a night. (That is a side diversion.)

Would like to say yes, but there is one poster on here who raises my blood pressure so dramatically we would need paramedics on stand-by.

Unless he has his birth date and country of origin plastered on his forehead, you are unlikely to recognise him wink.gif

I can bring my pills if you like...
