Lifted from another place, but I really dislike people who do these things:

Paul Simon Wilson
Somebody drove down Nideggen Close in Thatcham (Just off the broadway) near Garden and leader on Friday 14th around 12:00 Midnight and 12:20 and crashed into my car ripping of the bumper and drove off. The car was either RED or Red and white as there is RED scratch marks left on my car and small white ones. The car that hit it MUST have damage to the front end, to do this much damage to my car. If you or anyone has any information or any news or sees a RED car with front end damage and maybe purple paint on it please can you call me on 07836700035. There will be a reward should the information lead to either an arrest or me knowing where this car is.

I can't upload the pic, according to the rules, apparently. Victim car looks like a purple Corsa

What, post vigilante type info on Facebook, or won't leave things to the police to deal with?

Vigilance is not the action of a vigilante
The police have never, ever worked in isolation.....

What emotion would you feel if the same happened to your car?

I wouldn't take it so personally. I certainly wouldn't be adding fuel to chav fire on Facebook.

Looks like an FTO to me, and I wouldn't trust the police to make a sandwich.

Because it wasn't a deliberate act (presumably) deliberately aimed at me. It was bad not to stop, but I hardly think a public appeal for information is needed, especially as we don't know what the "victim" will do with the information.

People posting up and asking for information about something which effected them and left them out of pocket..

What's wrong with that?
Especially when everyone knows everyone these days especially with Facebook, I hope the poor guy gets the perpetrator and his car gets fixed. It would p*** me off as well.

Although, if it's that pink FTO that drives around, with a stupidly loud exhaust.... blink.gif

Potayto potarto.

Affect - verb, to influence or to adopt a particular manner.

Effect - verb, to accomplish something.

If either is used as a noun, then it is nearly always effect ( personal effects, damaging effects ). Affect as a noun only applied to an emotional state ~ hence the related word affections.

Words have different meanings, this is why they are spelt differently.......

Point is you knew exactly what I meant.
If you have nothing better to do than point of grammar, we're done here.

I did.

Les Dawson could play the piano, but that does not mean it is music to one's ears.

If the car owner wanted to post something, that would be one thing. Doing it on his behalf (without permission?) is weird.
