I am still gobsmacked that some women think that it is okay to accuse a man of rape and then when found out they are lying don't think there should be any repercussions on them. They not only cause a great deal of harm to the man (or in this case men !!) but women who have truly been raped and are afraid of reporting this for fear of not being believed. A man accused of rape I would assume would be shunned by friends and family and will never have the same relationships, when found innocent, that he had before the accusation.

There is often concern about the conviction rate for rape. This is just one reason.

Another example for anonymity for the accused as well as the accuser.

Four false allegations?

Not only does this wreck the lives of the four men involved it makes women who have actually suffered from this heinous crime less likely to come forward and report it.

Two years seems quite a light sentence.

Recall Harriett Harperson was voiciferous in stopping the suggested change to allow the accused
anonymity.

The 1976 Labour government introduced anonymity for defendants - only for the measure to be repealed 12 years later under the Tories.

What p i s s e s me off is that the accused is always revealed in the papers before being found guilty, which is wrecking a mans life before the verdict.
Women should feel ashamed of themselves who lie about rape, it is such a serious matter I do wonder what the **** their thinking.

I can't imagine the untold damage that's been done here and the things that have been said within the families of the 4 men that can't be taken back
