Great to see that Maplin are likely to open a branch in Newbury: with them and a cinema there's even less reason to go to Basingstoke, which can only be a good thing.
I'm not quite sure how Maplin manage it - the sort of thing they sell is usually available much more cheaply on Ebay - but they do. Perhaps those of us who buy this sort of thing can't resist the lure of actually seeing all those shiny bits and pieces on their shelves. |

Apparently the Maplin in Reading is preferable to some (less hassle, cost and somewhere to buy your lunch nearby) so they may be wasting effort with opening in Newbury |

At last! Somewhere for middle aged men like me to be parked while the other half is shopping. A shame it isn't on an out-of-town site though, so you can actually park out side it - for free - while you go in to buy something.
