Well done to the teacher from a reading school i thought his performance was really good last night he sang a difficult song by a great artist and pulled it off.
What about the x3 teenagers called triple trouble? i think, fair play they were trying to send a message about not all teenagers are the same in regards to knife crime, drugs that sort of thing but they couldnt talk properly surely they wernt brought up talking like that they all sounded they same! my advice to them would be learn to talk properly then you might be able to sing properly and just matbe make the next round. laugh.gif

The only message they sent out was that they were rude, abusive and threatening. Watch their exit from the stage again on catch up.

I agree that this is completely inappropriate thread for the NewburyNews section. However I did enjoy it, not sure about the live auditions, but that guy from Reading got the crowd going and he seemed very pleasant as well. The three muppets called triple trouble were obnoxious, abusive, and aggresive the complete opposite of what they tried to portray.

Might be an idea to ask the mods to move it, as Strafin said it's not a bad topic.

Awful TV for people who are not able to cope with anything intellectual. The only good thing is it forces me to get off my backside, turn the TV off and go down the Pub! wink.gif

At that time on a Saturday, I'm far too tired to cope with the intellectual chat in the pub. wink.gif

I wouldn't call going to the pub intellectual. Nowadays it is about getting drunk, vomiting up... and that is about the limit of ones intellectualism. At one time pubs used to be a good meeting place to talk about things exciting and intellectual.. not anymore.

You must live in or close to Thatcham Glenn.
Get out of Newbury and Thatcham and there a re a few good pubs left.
Not too sure that there would be intelligent conversation though but you wont get stabbed or puked on.

Quite right. Try the Jack Russell at Faccombe or the Rampant Cat at Woolton Hill.

You could say I live close to Thatcham... actually I live on the boarder in Clay Hill Newbury. Trouble is I've only got a bike so I usually stay around Newbury but I do know what you are saying.

A valid point has been raised that in a former age men ,and to a degree women , went for a quiet pint with their mates with the view of putting the world to rights . The last time I ventured into a hostelry I felt physically apprehensive at the prospect of staying .
Now our debating is conducted from the comfort of our front room via this media . A concept that ,though enjoyable , does lack the passion of face to face discussion .

I just hope that this too doesn't get hijacked by the lower orders as everything else seems to be . Or am I just being a reactionary pensioner sad.gif
