Is anyone really suprised that Pakistani cricket is corrupt? Corruption is endemic in Pakistani society. Large amounts of cash and relatively poorly paid cricketers with a limited career lifespan are a risk to say the least. If I had paid good money to watch that test I'd want a refund.

Cameron was right to question whether sometimes people in authority in Pakistan look the other way when it comes to terrorism and he got lambasted for it at the time.

As for the Cricket. Send the Pakistani team home and have nothing to do with them again until they can prove that they have changed.

Yes, gets my vote. Similarly agree with comments about David Cameron's remarks - that was straight honest talking in my book.

Yes, I agree too, they should be sent home immediatly. They are a disgrace. The game has lost it's credibility and wiil do so in the future if this team is allowed to play on.
Cameron has my vote too, Pakistan expects to be able to stand on the world stage but feel that they can ignore their obligations to the rest of the world.

They have actually - they are both sports which have had their share of spread betting scams.

Dunno, you tell me.

If you are Matthew Le Tissier you end up looking more like Matthew Le Tittier.

Saw Jimmy Greaves give a after diner speech once. He maentioned the that when Bruce Grobelar left liverpool he was given a gold watch. Very special watch, with three hands. Hour hand, second hand & a back hand.

Matthew Le Tissier claimed in a book he once booted a ball out for a throw in if my memory servers me correctly and the bookies then stopped taking bets on it. He was arrested and spoken to by the Police as was Bruce Grobbelar. Not enough evidence to prosecute though.

As for Horse Racing if a trainer is found to have laid his iown horse to lose you will find that they are warned off and not allowed to train again (Paul blockley). Also look at Kieran Fallon who was banned for a time.

I don't believe your argument holds any water. I hope they are banned from all forms of Cricket for a lengthy spell. The evidence is compelling.

What argument? You either tolerate attempts at bet fixing, or you don't .

If two well respected players, at the peak of their game should be involved in bet fixing, what does that say about the rest of the sport, at grass roots level?

Grobbelar - Well respected? Do me a favour! I also don't tolerate it but I can't see Newbury Town V Inkpen Rovers attracting much betting interest so as for the grass roots level go's thats codswallop. laugh.gif

It went to court where two juries couldn't come to a verdict. Grobbelaar successfully sued The Sun for £80,000.00, but they won an appeal and had the award commuted to £1.00, but Grobbelaar had to pay The Sun's £500,000.00 legal costs and subsequently went bankrupt.

At the time did anyone tarnish all Liverpudlians with being corrupt & wish the entire team banned?

I thought this cricket fiasco was really bad. Why are they still playing? They should have been suspended.
